I am a literary enthusiast and a keen writer. I love to tinker with words to create smooth, easy to read and well-balanced sentences. Hence my love of poetry, but also of well-written prose and other kind of stories.

Well Educated in Translation and Writing

I have an MA in literature, I took a BSc-level translation skills course, and to further improve my writing skills and understand, I recently took a course in writing commercial texts.

Expertise: Marketing, Technical, and Literature

My main areas of expertise as translator are: marketing (transcreation), technical, and literature. And as a former desk editor for an international publishing house I can also be of benefit for your publishing project. Next to translation projects, I also edit texts, translations and written by Dutch native speakers. About 50% of my workload involves editing.

• I have translated and edited books, both fiction and nonfiction. Lately I find myself specializing in the nonfiction category.
• I have translated marketing material, including websites, brochures, PowerPoint-presentations, and marketing research reports.
• I have translated internet security material, including brochures and company film subtitles.
• I have translated medical texts, including manuals, marketing material, patient information, and course contents.
• I have translated technical documents, including work instructions, safety instructions, and audit and score cards.

I work with SDL Trados Studio 2019 (certified user).
